Green and performance building design: an approach to the parametric method for architects
From just a few initial works in the past, the green building design movement is growing strongly and will be an inevitable trend, shaped by many different standard systems all over the world. In particular, high-performance building design is a part of this movement. However, in Vietnam, architects have not paid due attention and have not applied more practice in their designs. The main reason is due to the lack of training, the technicality of the standard systems, and the constraints in architectural creation. Therefore, a new approach to high–performance building design for architects, toward the green building design movement needs to be pointed out. This paper proposes the parametric approach by introducing the parametric method, some applications in architecture, and the process of using this method in a green architectural building design. This can be achieved through the building of input data, computer simulation, and output data processing.
